When in Tuscany, we love spending a moment at the Casato Prime Donne, a Brunello di Montacino winery where all the vintners are women. Surrounded by 17 hectares of luscious Sangiovese vineyards, this historic estate is also a place where one can see the work of many local artists on display. The vinters lead us on a tour of the winery, past huge French oak casks where the wine is aged for at least two years, explaining the delicate and detailed process of achieving the aromatic fullness and rich flavour that the wine is known for. We’re also invited to savour some local produce to accompany the wine. Ready to raise your glass?
